Abstract:
The discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012 constitutes one of the major breakthroughs of particle physics of the last decades. On the other hand, it opened an all-new domain of research. The Higgs particle may belong to a larger family of fundamental scalars. Such a scenario is implemented by most of beyond Standard Model theories. Charged Higgs bosons, are predicted by several non-minimal Higgs scenarios, such as Two-Higgs-Doublet Models or models containing Higgs triplets. The observation of a charged Higgs boson would be a direct window into New Physics. In this talk current searches for charged Higgs boson in the ATLAS experiment, using LHC Run-2 data, are presented.
