Abstract:
Measurements of correlations of soft particles in HI collisions were one of the key predictions for QGP. Initially, the harmonic coefficients of azimuthal distributions were of interest. Over time more sophisticated observables were proposed. Among them, in 2016 Piotr Bozek proposed to measure the „double” correlation between azimuthal flow harmonics coefficients with the average momentum of particles in the event. Interesting experimental results attracted an interest in the field and prompted further theoretical studies. Two avenues of current research will be discussed, the measurement of average event momentum fluctuations and the aforementioned Bozek’s correlation as a new tool to study nuclear shapes.
