prof. dr hab. Paweł Moskal (UJ): Imaging the decay of positronium atoms using the J-PET tomograph

Europe/Warsaw
Description

Abstract:

The Jagiellonian Positron Emission Tomograph (J-PET) is the first PET scanner based on plastic scintillators. J-PET enables imaging of positronium in living organisms and the study of discrete symmetries in positronium decays without the use of magnetic fields.
We will present the most accurate results to date of P, T, CP, and CPT symmetry studies in the decays of positronium atoms obtained using the J-PET detector, as well as the first-ever clinical images of the properties of positronium in humans.
