Abstract:

Ultraperipheral hevy-ion collisions can be a powerfull probe of low Bojrken x physics. In these collisions a high energy nearly real photon can interact with one of the nuclei giving rise to a variety of photonuclear processes. This talk will focus on the recent measurement of coherent exclusive J/psi production at mid-rapidity in ultraperipheral collisions. This is the first measurement of this kind performed with the ATLAS detector.
