Description

Abstract:

I will discuss the results from our investigation of angular correlations between meson and baryon pairs in the PYTHIA8 event generator. I will start by sharing the complexity of the subject and its non-trivial nature as an observable. I will show how colour reconnection models and hadronisation mechanisms affect such angular correlations and, in particular, address the effect of gluons on the baryon production mechanism of the Lund string fragmentation model. I will conclude by sharing a new hypothesis for the suppression of baryon production in gluon jets and show how that may influence the angular correlations.
