Abstract:

The concept of entropy underlies the history of modern physics, as well as other branches of science such as information theory. I will give a short introduction to this notion and present recent investigations into the application of the concept of entropy to the system of partons in the proton. These studies are based on the canonical approach to partons through parton distribution functions which evolve with a hard scale according to the Altarelli-Parisi (DGLAP)evolution equations of QCD.
