dr inż. Agnieszka Ogrodnik (IFJ PAN): Flavor and path-length dependence of jet quenching from inclusive jet and γ-jet suppression

Europe/Warsaw
Description

Abstract:

I will present a parametric approach to analyze jet suppression measured using the nuclear modification factor of inclusive jets, b-jets, and jets from gamma–jet events. The magnitude of the average energy loss and its transverse momentum dependence are quantified, together with the impact of fluctuations. The average energy loss is also studied as a function of path length, estimated using Glauber and Trajectum models, and is found to support the picture of predominantly radiative parton energy loss. The obtained parameterizations allow us to estimate jet v2, the magnitude of energy loss in oxygen–oxygen collisions, and the suppression of jets in the gamma–jet system.
