Abstract:
The physics goals and the status of construction of the Nuclotron-based Ion Collider Facility (NICA) at JINR in Dubna will be presented.
The Multi-Purpose Detector physics performance and discovery potential will be discussed. Main detector components, their construction and integration will be described, with special emphasis on the involvement of Polish research groups.
