Shahriyar Jafarzade (JKU): Phenomenology of light mesons with J=2,3

Europe/Warsaw
Description

Abstract:

In this talk, I will briefly present our recent results for light mesons with total spin J = 2, 3 within an effective hadronic model, the so-called extended Linear Sigma Model. This model is based on the approximate chiral symmetry of QCD. We have shown that it is also successful in describing the resonances with total spins 2 and 3. Qualitative agreement between model results and PDG as well as LQCD data is obtained. Various predictions for the radiative decays can be tested in future GlueX and CLAS12 experiments at Jefferson Lab. After testing the chiral model for well-established spin-2 mesons, I will move on to their chiral partners, where the resonances are still missing. Quite large decay widths, either in the chiral model or in LQCD simulations, imply their broadness. Furthermore, I will describe the missing tensor glueball with spin-2 within the chiral model. Some spin-2 PDG resonances with a mass of around 2 GeV are studied, and the best agreement was obtained for the resonance f2 (1950), which is also a braod resonance. I will finally talk about the effect of the breaking of U(1)-axial symmetry in spin-2 mesons.

Important: This seminar is held in building D-11 room 104.
