dr Amaresh Jaiswal (NISER Bhubaneswar,UJ): Longitudinal spin polarization in a thermal model with dissipative corrections

Europe/Warsaw
Description

Abstract:

Recent measurements of the spin polarization of hyperons and vector mesons produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions have triggered extensive investigations into this phenomenon in strongly interacting matter. In particular, there is significant interest in the experimental results on the longitudinal spin polarization of the Lambda hyperon. I will present our recent work on calculating the longitudinal spin polarization within a thermal model with dissipative corrections and comparing it with experimental results. This analysis allows us to extract the relaxation time for spin degrees of freedom, which we find to be comparable with other estimates.
