dr Martin Rybar (Charles University Prague): Jet Tomography: Unveiling the Secrets of QCD Matter

Europe/Warsaw
Description

Abstract:

High-energy jets serve as powerful probes of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), providing insights into the properties of strongly interacting matter under extreme conditions. At the Large Hadron Collider, the ATLAS experiment has performed detailed measurements of jet quenching-characterized by energy loss, medium-induced modifications, and changes in jet structure as jets traverse the hot and dense QCD medium. In this talk, I will give broad overview of ATLAS results on jet suppression and modifications to jet substructure. These precision measurements offer key constraints for theoretical models and deepen our understanding of QGP dynamics and the emergent properties of QCD in the strongly coupled regime.
