Abstract:
The Quark Gluon Plasma created experimentally in heavy ion collisions can be studied via the study of simultaneously created jets in this medium.
We describe the production of jet-pairs in ultrarelativistic nuclear collisions via a Monte-Carlo algorithm that takes into account multiple scatterings of jet- and medium-particles, which lead to both coherent in-medium radiation as well as a gain in jet-particle momentum components that are transverse to the jet-momentum. Due to these effects our qualitative results on dijet observables show considerable differences to observables from proton-proton collisions.
